This vintage collectible China head doll is from late 1800's from the German Hertwig factory. She measures at 14 " and china head at 3".   A lovely apple cheek doll head with one tiny mark in glass on right cheek which would have occurred during production. No factory markings are visibly apparent on the doll head.  Doll is constructed of vintage materials available in keeping with the age of the doll and filled with cotton batting with delicately stitched tiny hands.  Doll is wearing fine muslim long bloomers with gathered bottoms covered in embroidery stitch and  covered back button. A vintage lace trimmed slip was designed for this doll in keeping with the fashion of that time. The blue paisley dress with embroidered trim made for this doll has faded and aged over time and is viewed in a tea colored tan. No holes or tears are noted in her clothing.  Original fabric color can be seen in the folds on the inside of the back of the dress.  Doll legs are a fine knitted cotton and turned so that the lace portion shows on outer leg. Boots are hand sewn maroon leather like fabric.  This doll would make a true china head doll collector stop and take notice.  A wonderful gift or addition to any collection.
